Some common problems in bearing installation and use

1. Pay attention to the following items when using bearings:

a. Keep the bearing and its surrounding environment clean. Even if the small dust invisible to the naked eye enters the bearing, it will increase the wear, vibration and noise of the bearing.

b. When using and installing, it is required to be careful, and it is not allowed to punch forcefully. It is not allowed to directly knock the bearing with a hammer, and it is not allowed to transfer the pressure through the rolling element.

c. Use proper and accurate installation tools, use special tools as much as possible, and try to avoid using cloth, short fiber and other things.

d. To prevent the bearing from rusting, when the bearing is taken directly by hand, the sweat on the hand shall be fully washed away, and the operation shall be carried out after applying high-quality mineral oil. In rainy season and summer, special attention shall be paid to rust prevention.

2. Common problems in installation and use of rolling bearing

2.1 requirements for installation surface and installation site?

Yes. If there are iron chips, burrs, dust and other foreign matters in the bearing, it will cause noise and vibration when the bearing is running, and even damage the raceway and rolling body. Therefore, before installing the bearing, you must make sure that the installation surface and the installation environment are clean.

2.2 must bearings be cleaned before installation?

The bearing surface is coated with antirust oil. You must clean it carefully with clean gasoline or kerosene, and then apply clean high-quality or high-speed high-temperature lubricating grease before installation and use. Cleanliness has a great influence on bearing life and vibration noise. But we want to remind you in particular: totally enclosed bearings do not need to be cleaned and oiled.

2.3 how to select lubricating grease?

Lubrication has a very important influence on the operation and service life of bearings. Here is a brief introduction to the general principles of grease selection. The grease is made of base oil, thickener and additive. The performance of different types and the same brand of grease varies greatly, and the allowable rotation limit is different. Pay attention to the selection. The performance of the grease is mainly determined by the base oil. General low viscosity base oil is suitable for low temperature and high speed; high viscosity base oil is suitable for high temperature and high load. Thickener is also related to the lubrication performance. The water resistance of thickener determines the water resistance of grease. In principle, greases of different brands cannot be mixed, and even greases of the same thickener will have bad effects on each other due to different additives.

2.4 when lubricating bearings, is the more grease the better?

When lubricating bearings, the more grease the better, which is a common misconception. Too much grease in the bearing and bearing chamber will cause excessive mixing of grease, resulting in extremely high temperature.

2.5 how to install and disassemble?

During the installation, do not hammer the bearing end face and non stressed surface directly, and use the pressing block, sleeve or other installation tools to make the bearing evenly stressed. If the installation surface is coated with lubricating oil, it will make the installation more smooth. If the fit interference is large, put the bearing into the mineral oil and heat it to 90 ~ 100 ℃ and install it immediately. In case of difficulty in disassembly, it is recommended that you use the disassembly tool to pull outwards while carefully pouring hot oil on the inner ring. The heat will expand the inner ring of the bearing and make it easy to fall off.

2.6 is the smaller the radial clearance of the bearing better?

Not all bearings require the minimum working clearance, you must select the appropriate clearance according to the conditions. According to the national standard 4604-93, the radial clearance of rolling bearing can be divided into five groups: group 2, group 0, group 3, group 4 and group 5. The clearance value is from small to large, and group 0 is the standard clearance. The basic radial clearance group is suitable for general operation conditions, conventional temperature and commonly used interference fit; large radial clearance should be selected for bearings working under special conditions such as high temperature, high speed, low noise and low friction; small radial clearance should be selected for bearings for precision spindle and machine tool spindle; a small amount of working clearance can be maintained for roller bearings. In addition, there is no clearance for the separated bearing; finally, the working clearance after the installation of the bearing is smaller than the original clearance before the installation, because the bearing must bear certain load rotation, as well as the elastic deformation generated by the bearing matching and load.
